Novus Magnificat is one of those albums that touches its listener in a major way. I purchased this album in 1994 when I was just beginning on a spiritual journey that has lasted since then, and even now it touches me in ways no other album has, and every time I listen to it I hear one more instrument or note hidden away within the complexity of this recording.
As a classically trained musician Constance Demby outperforms many of the other artists in her field with this spell binding album. Novus Magnificat will take you to places you will really enjoy being. The magnificence of this album is that it reminds you of something familiar that you know you’ve never experienced.
Her use of Tibetan singing bowls, a choir, her one-of-a-kind hand made instruments the Space Bass & Whale Tail, and a brief hammer dulcimer interlude that takes us back to her earlier work that can be heard on “Sacred Space Music” really fill this album with pleasant and uplifting harmonies that will allow you to forget any negative feelings you might have been having.
This is a definite must have for any New Age Music enthusiast.
